Project Manager Summary – Roof Replacement, Glasgow.

Industrial Roofing Scotland recently completed a comprehensive roof refurbishment for a facility in Hillington, Glasgow. Project Manager on the works, David Liversidge talks us through the ins-and-outs of the project.

“When I first surveyed the site, it was clear the building was suffering from multiple issues that were only going to get worse. Water ingress was a persistent problem, the insulation was no longer doing its job, and the maintenance demands were becoming unsustainable.

The client needed a solution that would address everything comprehensively, not just patch
up the immediate problems. We designed a full refurbishment programme that included safe strip-out of the existing system, installation of modern insulated composite panels, new rooflights to bring in more natural daylight, upgraded guttering, and improvements to the external cladding.

We worked closely with their facilities team to schedule each stage, maintaining site safety and building security at all times. The transformation has been significant. The building is now fully watertight, thermally efficient, and far better lit naturally. Maintenance requirements have dropped considerably, and the external appearance has improved dramatically. The client was pleased with both the outcome and how smoothly we managed the delivery, which is always the goal.”
